Welcome to the Caledonian Thistle PWRC page.

The Club was founded in 1999 by a group of people who wanted more from their Whippets than to keep them just as pets and who wanted to give other pedigree whippet owners and their dogs the chance to enjoy and share in a family sport.

The Club races on Sundays at Inch Farm, Kincardine on Forth.  Members gather about 1pm with racing starting about 1.30pm.  We have a wide range of members and their dogs, show whippets, hunting whippets, couch whippets and a half coat racing champion as well.  Our club handicap system gives everyone the chance of winning.
Also we have introduced the Beagles who run each week in a point system, for rossettes and trophies,

Racing gives whippet and Beagle owners the opportunity to get together for a fun family day and to exchange views and ideas, tell funny stories and get helpful hints, commiserate and compete!
We have pairs and team competitions as well as individual trophy meetings and a puppy derby, also the Beagle Derby, and this year 2009 our very first Grand Scottish Open running for W.C.R.A. Points
This being the very first Open ever been held in Scotland, will be ongoing from Friday 1st May untill Monday 4th May Sunday being the Main Event, also the Scottish Beagles will be competing for a Trophy.
Plenty of organised fun and social events over the weekend.
Site will be open from Friday till Monday.

So whether you live nearby or are coming to Scotland on holiday, why not join us on the day of our Big Event for some fantastic racing and lots of fun.

If you would like more information about the club, or racing, or anything to do with all our canine friends, or just to check if racing is on any Sunday please contact our secretary:
Maggie Hendrie - 01236 830273

Directions to the club from the south - take M876 (Denny to Kincardine Bridge Motorway) at the end of the motorway go across the roundabout following A876 to Kincardine and go over the Kincardine Bridge.  Just over the bridge in front of a clock tower, take the right hand turning, signposted Tourist Route, Fife Coastal Route and Culross.  Follow this road going out of the village for about half a mile, heading towards the Power Station.  Just before the Power Station you will see the farm yard on your right hand side.   Our track is situated in the field between the Power Station and the farm yard.

For directions from a special location, contact Maggie who will advise.

We look forward to welcoming you to our club.

Hello,
We have a wee whippet, with no papers and would love to come to the open day this weekend. We are not members but would like to meet with people with the same love for whippets. Is this possible. Are there any events for whippets with no papers?
Thankyou kat, Ian and Oscar

Spectators are very welcome at Sunday's event, so please do come along and bring your whippet thumbsup.gif. It's an open racing competition rather than an open day, which means it's open to any pedigree whippet that has a Whippet Club Racing Association Passport.

I'm afraid your whippet will probably not get a chance to run this weekend but it will be a great day to come and watch as there will be whippets and whippety mad folk biggrin.gif from all over the UK. We'll be racing all afternooon on Sunday. original.gif

As Scooby says, on any other Sunday your whippet will be given the chance to run after the lure. The club runs every Sunday from 1pm and you can just turn up for a trial run and see if your whippet takes to it. We have racing for pedigree whippets, non-peds, beagles and fun runs for other types of dogs, lurchers, labradors, terriers... the list goes on and on!
